Miss Poppy is not a person
Miss Poppy is a computer program powered by large language models, not a human teacher. She has no memory of your child beyond the current conversation and should never be treated as a friend, confidant or authority figure.
AI can be wrong
AI answers can contain mistakes, outdated facts or odd phrasing, even when they sound confident. Chingelish supports school learning; it does not replace a teacher, a curriculum, or a parent's judgement. Please double-check anything important.
Safety measures we take
- Miss Poppy is instructed to use British English, short child-friendly sentences and gentle corrections.
- She is instructed never to ask for or repeat personal information, and to refuse unsafe, adult, violent or frightening topics.
- An additional filter checks messages and redirects the conversation to a cheerful, safe topic when needed.
- AI chat and speech require a signed-in account and are limited to a fixed number of uses per day.
- If a child mentions being upset or hurt, Miss Poppy encourages them to speak to a trusted grown-up.
No filter is perfect. Some unsuitable output is always possible, which is why supervision matters.
Not advice
Miss Poppy does not give medical, psychological, legal or financial advice, and must not be used for anything urgent. In an emergency, contact your local emergency services.
What happens to chat messages
Messages are sent to our AI provider so a reply or audio clip can be generated, and are stored with the account so the conversation and parent review work. Please remind your child not to type personal details. See our Privacy Policy for retention and deletion.
Voice playback
Spoken replies are synthesised by AI. The voice is not a recording of a real person, and pronunciation can occasionally be imperfect.
Tell us about problems
If Miss Poppy ever says something inappropriate, please report it to support.team@chingelish.com or via the contact form. Reports directly improve our safety rules. This disclaimer forms part of our Terms of Service and Acceptable Use Policy.
