Cookies and similar technologies
"Cookies" here also covers local storage, which is what Chingelish mostly uses. These are small pieces of data saved by your browser on your device.
Essential (always on)
- Sign-in session — keeps you signed in between visits and secures requests to our servers. Without it you would have to sign in on every page.
- Cookie choice — remembers the preferences you set in the cookie banner, so we don't ask again.
Functional (optional)
- Read-aloud toggle — remembers whether the AI tutor should speak replies automatically.
- Daily reminder state — remembers the last day a lesson reminder was shown so you only get one per day.
- Parent check — remembers that the parent/guardian check has been completed on this device.
- Dismissed notices — remembers that you closed the beta banner.
If you reject non-essential storage, the app still works — it simply forgets these preferences between visits.
Analytics and advertising
We currently use no analytics, advertising or social-media tracking cookies, and we do not sell data. The analytics switch in your cookie preferences is there so that, if we ever add privacy-friendly analytics, nothing runs until you allow it.
Third-party requests
The app loads typefaces from Google Fonts and talks to Lovable Cloud (hosting, database, sign-in) and the Lovable AI Gateway (AI tutor and speech). These are needed to run the service and do not place advertising cookies.
Changing your choices
You can change your mind at any time using the link, also available in the footer of every page. You can additionally clear cookies and site data in your browser settings — this will sign you out.
