Children’s Privacy

Last updated: 17 October 2026

An explanation for young learners, followed by important information for their grown-ups.

For you: your learning belongs to you

We remember your activities, stars and practice so you and your grown-up can see how you are doing. Your grown-up manages your account.

Use a nickname. Do not write your home address, school, phone number or secrets in an answer. Ask your grown-up if you are unsure.

You do not have to use the microphone. If you record your voice, it is sent to a speech service to turn it into words. Ask your grown-up first. You can stop recording and practise without recording instead.

We do not show advertising or give you an open-ended AI chatbot. If something worries you, stop and tell your grown-up. They can ask us about your information or ask for it to be deleted.

For parents: who is responsible

ASM Professional Services, KVK 42137630, is the operator and data controller. Postal address: 1409 Dalsteindreef, 1112 XC Diemen, Netherlands. Contact support@chingelish.com, our contact form, or write to the postal address. Children retain their own privacy rights; a parent or legal guardian can exercise them on their behalf where appropriate.

Children’s information and its use

We process nicknames, learner groups, avatars, protected sign-in codes, device approvals, learning answers and progress, rewards, screen-time records, and conversation responses and feedback. These support lessons, account security and parent reports. Use a nickname rather than a full name, including when purchasing a plan, because the child’s display name is included in subscription and invoice information.

Writing saved in the Writing Workshop is stored on the device rather than uploaded as a writing backup. It remains when optional cookies are rejected. Anyone with access to that browser may be able to see device-saved writing; clear the website’s browser data on shared devices when appropriate.

Optional voice and other services

Read-aloud text and recordings submitted for transcription go through the Lovable speech gateway using configured OpenAI speech models. Transcribed conversation answers may become part of saved practice history. The app’s speech handlers do not deliberately save a durable audio file, but that does not establish that the hosting or speech providers retain no copies or logs.

See the Technology & Content Notice for the distinction between reviewed lessons, deterministic feedback and speech processing, and the Privacy Policy for providers and retention. Optional Google Analytics runs only after an adult’s analytics choice; no advertising tracking runs. Refusal of optional cookies does not prevent essential learning.

Parental authorization is not a cookie choice

Accounts must be held by an adult parent or legal guardian. The present parent check records a declaration of that relationship; it is not independent identity or guardianship verification. Accepting terms, verifying an email, allowing a microphone or accepting cookies must not be described as equivalent to every region’s required parental consent.

Where applicable law requires verifiable parental consent, that requirement must be met before covered collection. This notice does not certify that the current declaration satisfies US COPPA or other local verification rules. See Parent Consent & Data Rights and Regional Privacy & Consumer Rights.

Review, correction, withdrawal and deletion

Review learning progress in the Parent Zone. You may request a copy, correction, deletion or cessation of optional processing for your child without buying another plan. We may request proportionate proof of authority to prevent disclosure to the wrong person. Do not send identity documents or a child’s sensitive information through the general contact form unless we have agreed a secure method.

Turning off analytics or avoiding recording does not erase previous learning history. Account deletion is a separate action, described in Parent Consent & Data Rights; statutory records and provider backups require separate treatment. Withdrawal does not invalidate processing lawfully carried out before withdrawal.
