Creating and supervising a family account
An adult parent or legal guardian creates the account, manages up to three child profiles, chooses learner groups and sets each child’s four-digit code. Parent controls include progress, screen-time settings, device approvals and per-child subscriptions. Use nicknames and supervise learning and microphone use.
The parent check saves a parent/guardian declaration timestamp. It does not independently verify adult identity or parental authority, and it is not a complete jurisdiction-specific consent verification record. A successful email confirmation establishes access to an email address, not guardianship.
Read our Chingelish Policies for worldwide policy scope, adult supervision and educational and medical disclaimers. Mandatory local rights and the operator’s obligations remain applicable.
Choices you can make
- Terms: the adult’s agreement to the service terms is separate from the privacy notice and optional consent.
- Cookies: accept or reject optional settings and analytics, or change them using cookie settings. Each decision is submitted to the server-side consent log. Essential storage and explicitly saved writing remain independent of optional consent.
- Speech: microphone permission allows the browser to capture audio; submitting a recording sends it to speech processing. It does not authorize unrelated uses or replace any legally required parental verification. Do not record if you do not want audio sent; non-recording learning remains available.
- Progress emails: save the parent’s report email and choose report frequencies in the Parent Zone. Clear the email or disable the reports to stop future reports; previously sent email is not recalled.
Access, correction and other requests
Contact support@chingelish.com from the account email, use the contact form, or write to ASM Professional Services, 1409 Dalsteindreef, 1112 XC Diemen, Netherlands. State whether the request concerns you, one child or the whole family. Do not include passwords, child codes or payment-card details.
The contact form saves a message separately from email notification. If it reports that notification is unavailable, do not assume an email was delivered; retain the confirmation and use the postal address for an alternative channel.
You can request access, correction, deletion, portability where applicable, restriction, objection and withdrawal of consent. For GDPR requests we respond without undue delay and ordinarily within one month; if a lawful extension is necessary, we explain it within that month. Other local deadlines and exceptions apply as described in Regional Privacy & Consumer Rights. Necessary identity checks must be proportionate. You may complain to the relevant regulator.
Deleting an account or a child
At the bottom of the Parent Zone, choose Delete account and type DELETE to confirm. The action attempts immediate cancellation of relevant paid subscriptions, removal of the family’s learning and child records, and removal of the login. It removes all child profiles, not just the currently selected child. This is irreversible for the records successfully deleted.
Deletion uses multiple steps and can partially fail. An error does not mean nothing was deleted, and a confirmation is not a guarantee of erasure from all provider backups. If it fails, retain the error and contact us to complete the request. A separate child-removal action requires the applicable paid plan to be cancelled first.
Accounting/payment records, consent evidence and deletion/security audit records may remain where necessary. Removing account links does not necessarily anonymise all information in them. Browser-saved writing, copies of emails, payment-provider records and hosting backups are not automatically erased by removing the account. Clear this website’s browser data to remove device-saved writing.
Withdrawal and cancellation
You can withdraw optional analytics consent without closing the account. A request to stop consent-based child processing may mean the affected feature can no longer be provided; we will explain the consequences. You can still exercise data rights. Cancelling renewal normally retains access to the paid-period end, while deleting the whole account ends access as part of deletion. Refund and statutory withdrawal requests are separate: see Refunds & Cancellation.
